Spoken word poet Scroobius Pip has teamed up with the Red Cross, along with fellow musicians Kindness and Sierra Leone All Stars, to produce a concept album based on the lives of refugees and asylum seekers entitled The Long Road.
The project, which sees the musicians each telling the real story of a person who's been forced to leave his or her home and seek asylum in the UK, will be produced by Brit Award winner Ethan Johns, who commented 'This is a very special opportunity to create an album with a narrative that helps more people understand the realities of being a refugee and the journeys people go through. Music is one of the oldest forms of storytelling, and these are important stories to be told'.
